NSS Offers Musical Embrace for Carr and Camp Fires

This offer will be extended in Chico to those affected by the Camp Fire. Please check back for more information.

NSS Offers Musical Embrace for Carr Fire First Responders and Victims:

In deep appreciation of the efforts of Carr Fire first responders, and heartfelt sympathy for those who have suffered losses, NSS will be offering these groups of people free tickets to our Redding 18-19 Masterworks concerts. Contact the Cascade Theatre Box Office for assistance.

“We’re incredibly thankful for the safety of our North State Symphony family during the Carr Fire, for the tremendous work of first responders and volunteers, and are saddened by the losses that have affected so many. We’re proud to be a part of the Redding community and are committed to helping the North State in the healing process. We hope our first concerts of the season are a chance to enjoy some good music and experience its cathartic power.” -- Elizabeth Quivey, Executive Director

NSS POPS
April Concert

Pop into Spring with the North State Symphony and John Williams!

Join the North State Symphony in a joyful outburst to Spring with a special
performance: “NSS POPS! The Best of John Williams”. Concerts take place on April 6th and 7th in Oroville, Red Bluff, and Chico.

The music of John Williams has transported us beyond our imagination. It has taken us on heart-pounding adventures to new worlds. Be there as the North State Symphony performs all of your John Williams favorites: Superman, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Catch Me If You Can, Jurassic Park, and much more.

“Most of us don’t think “symphony orchestra” when we hear the amazing soundtracks behind blockbusters like Jurassic Park and Harry Potter, but the music is what creates a huge part of the excitement, and an orchestra is what creates that music” says Scott Seaton, North State Symphony Music Director and Conductor. “John Williams has composed some of the most amazing orchestral music out there. It’s not Mozart, but orchestras love performing this fun, challenging and powerful sound, and hearing it live will blow you away!”

Performances are Friday, April 6th at 7:30pm at the Oroville State Theatre (tickets at
orovillestatetheatre.com), April 7th at 2pm at the Red Bluff State Theatre (tickets at www.statetheatreredbluff.com), and April 7th at 7:30pm at Laxson Auditorium in Chico (tickets at the University Box Office or at chicostatetickets.com).

The Red Bluff concert is sponsored by Red and Maria Emmerson, and presented in partnership with the Tehama County Community Concert Association. The Chico concert is sponsored by The Whittley Foundation, and Scott Seaton is sponsored by Margaret Bomberg. The Oroville performance celebrates the 90th anniversary of the historic Oroville State Theatre and includes ticket options for premier seating, plus a champagne reception at a special silent film event the following evening.

Together – we are NSS!

From the orchestral scores to the amazing guest artists we bring each year, to our talented and dedicated musicians, we rely on gifts to the Annual Fund to make the whole North State Symphony experience possible. With your investment we are able to provide four Masterworks concerts, the Explore Music! educational program, Pops concerts, and more.

I hope you consider making a donation to the North State Symphony Annual Fund during our 2017-18 season. Whether this is your first gift or you've been giving for many years, your contribution makes a significant impact and helps ensure classical music endures for future generations.

Just click HERE to make a gift online! I hope you'll consider increasing your gift, or making a sustaining pledge to give through the year to the Symphony.

As we finish our concert season and look forward to the next, I invite you to become more engaged with me and the music to help us develop new audiences. Bring a friend to the next concert and let me know about it - I'd like to say thank you in person.

Thank you for joining me in bringing enriching symphonic music to all - together we are the North State Symphony!

Warm Regards,

Scott Seaton
Conductor and Music Director
