COVID-19 Update

Cascade Theatre Announces COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing RequirementEffective immediately, all patrons must show proof of vaccination or recent negative test.

Redding, CA September 1, 2021: The historic Cascade Theatre in Redding, California today announced that it will be joining performing arts venues in the region and around the country to provide a safer return to full-capacity, indoor performances this fall by requiring that all audience members be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of each performance.

The new policy also covers all artists, staff, contractors, vendors, ushers, and volunteers at the CascadeTheatre. “We are dedicated to the safety and protection of all who enjoy our historic theatre,” said Paul Christy, interim Executive Director of JeffersonLive! LLC, the parent entity of the Cascade Theatre. “We join with artists, patrons, and employees to ensure that each performance at our Theatre ensures the comfort and enjoyment of all, and we appreciate that our patrons, employees, donors, and sponsors expect us to hold to the highest standards in security and risk prevention.”

Beginning September 1, 2021, patrons must show a government-issued photo ID and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 to attend all indoor performances and events at the Cascade Theatre. Masking will continue to be required inside regardless of vaccination status, except while eating and drinking in authorized areas. This policy covers existing ticket holders as well as those who purchase tickets starting on September 1, 2021.

Audience members may display proof of vaccine on a smartphone or by showing a physical copy of the vaccination card or official vaccination record. “Fully vaccinated” means that 14 days have passed since either the second shot of a CDC or WHO-approved two-shot vaccine or since the administration of a CDC or WHO-approved one-shot vaccine. Exceptions will be made for those who are under 12 years of age or for patrons with a medical condition or closely held religious belief that prevents vaccination. Those patrons must instead provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Performance ticket holders who do not comply with these policies will not be admitted.

The Cascade Theatre plans to reevaluate its vaccine and masking policy each month and as conditions and trusted medical guidance evolve. We share with all music lovers the hope that vigilance and protection against this pandemic today can help sustain a future that supports and promotes artists and our heritage of outstanding performances.

The Cascade Theatre is located at 1735 Market Street, Redding California 96001. The Cascade Box Office is open each week, Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and questions about tickets or this policy can be addressed to boxoffice@cascadetheatre.org or by calling the Box Office at 530-243-8877
