What made you want to be a musician?
My mom played violin, and I wanted to play it too, until a string quartet from the San Francisco Symphony visited my elementary school in Palo Alto. It was the viola for me since that day!
Favorite genre of music?
I love to play all orchestra music, but when I am listening to music at home it is hard rock!
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not rehearsing or performing?
I like to go hiking and camping.
What’s it like to perform onstage with an orchestra?
Lots of counting and watching, interspersed with moments of terror!
Best advice you’ve ever received?
My viola teacher in college said, "Don't wimp out!"
